GOOD TIMES ON FRIDAY

What me drives crazy on Friday? Pants and t-shirts. And oh, and also a two-hour great time of flavored beer and silly chitchat with hardworking work pals :0

This is how you wear a long oversized cardigan, pair it with a short skirt and cinch it!  Don't forget to wear heels to get a few inches taller and a statement accessories to jazz up the look :)

TARTAN

It's 5 o'clock P.M. Everybody's jumping out of the office including those people who frequent my camera's shutter button. Thus, I struggle to find a person who's willing to lend both his hands and feet to me -- hands to give me a decent photos free of charge -- and a pair of feet willing to walk a hundred steps away from the office's vicinity just to satisfy my cravings for outfit shots. Seein' one of my closet friend in the office gives me a great possibility of outfit shoot. Oh well, she brightens my late afternoon :)

I have a hard time deciding what to wear so I opted for a simple red shirt and skinny jeans. However, Friday still means " WORK", which demands for a proper office attire, so I completed the look by wearing a blazer.

You'll never see me wearing clothes in tartan pattern not until I stumbled on this crisp and pristine blazer in a  thrift store. It has a subtle colors and not-so-thick intersecting lines which gives this ancient pattern a fresh modern twist.

The tartan blazer serves as the accessory on this ensemble since it jazz up the simple shirt and pants I am wearing.

I've got stripes. Wrong. I've got tartan :)

RED, YELLOW AND BLUE

An attempt to color block using the symbolic colors of the Philippine flag might sound too patriotic to me. But the fact hat they complement each other is enough to justify the peg. The rule of thumb on color blocking suggests that a combination of more than three colors in an ensemble makes you a walking color wheel. As you can see, I have used six colors: red-blue-red-violet-black and brown.

RED, YELLOW AND BLUE
You  can never go wrong with combining these three tried and tested primary colors.

BLACK AND BROWN
To avoid distractions and keep the colors on top.

VIOLET
All the while I thought that the belt I am wearing is color blue.Haha.

Soooooo, do I look like a walking color wheel???or a trying hard cartoon?
(whispering..) I just want to let the colors pop in the photos. This is the moment for colors :)

While I am writing this blog, the stop motion video "Three Primary Colors" by OK Go for Sesame Street pop out in my head and I can't help singing "there are 3 primary colors.. only three are primary is true.. the world is full of every kind of colors.. but were just talking red, yellow and blue..."

I have to say that I used a violet belt because blue and red makes purple!!

BACK TO BASICS

A basic shirt over a skinny pants is definitely one of the ensemble that never fails to give that casual classic look. Look simple yet elegant by adding any type of statement necklace, the chunkier the better.

Whatever fashion trends you follow, you will still go back to the basics.

I've been wanting this hallway as a peg for a serious outfit post. But whenever I am ready to take a shot, it's either I forgot my camera or I have more important urgent papers to finish. I promise next time I would go there in original plan. But for now, here's a casual office attire I managed to slip into in five minutes!

An overused turtleneck top

uneven polyester cardigan

bandage skirt

snakes skin necklace
