MIRACLE OF LIFE

As I see myself in front of the mirror, I saw a hideous sagging skin and a protruding tummy  in front of me. As I'm about to slap my face to wake me up from this dream, someone hit me from behind, I turned around and saw an angel giggling. His eyes were set on my tummy, then he touches it, feels it and spank it! The world started to spin around me, in rapid motion, as fast as it could. Then it stopped.A little boy dressed in all white pajama, stares at me, his smile resembles mine, his eyes looks like the man I married. He tiptoes his feet and reaches for my arms. His mouth opens and says "Maaammaaa". And I'm back in the real world.

While some women is gifted with exceptional skin elasticity, I am one of the MANY to the exceptions. It kinda frustrate me when I tried so many poses and ends up deleting almost all the shots because I can't force the camera lens to lie. When I have to wear something special inside to conceal "this thing" from sticking out from the blue cotton dress I excitedly brought home. How I miss flaunting in bikini top when I am as thin as a stick and my tummy is as flat as the piece of paper, ooohhh man!, those were the days (sigh). I don't scare you. It's one of the things you have to look forward to when you reach the phase of motherhood.Reality bites. But the bonus comes after the "sagging" though, you have a cute little angels and a big boy in your life :)

Don't mind the bulges you see. It's a wonder of life :)

I got this 27 year old vintage clutch bag from my late mom's closet

WHITE MEN'S SHIRT

I am inspired to create an outfit over a men's basic white shirt. So I dig my closet for the perfect pants and found my sister's gift to me - a harlem trouser. Such an ideal piece to start with the look I wanted. Nothing fancy. Just simple and casual in unconventional way.

To give the top a touch of femininity, I folded the sleeves up to the length the usual women's shirt has and tucked the shirt in. I don't like to look like a school boy so I accessorize by wearing a beaded chandelier earrings, a gold cuff to match with my gold skinny belt, a wedge and bold red-orange lipstick. This time I stick to neutrals to keep the look simple yet stunning in effortlessly way (did I? :) ).

The sky is getting dark and waiting for the rain to fall.
And same with my husband killing time on my office's hall. I got to go, I can hear his shoes tapping :)

VINTAGE IS BACK

I am about to take lunch with my officemates when we tried to steal several clicks  for a supposedly later in the afternoon photo session. I realized at that point that I still have to master the art of striking a pose without being mindful of whoever sees me in that feeling model situation.

I've been wearing this Rene Derhy vintage over-sized button down shirt for several times already. The geometric ethnic prints, over-sized kimono sleeves and the uneven hemlines makes this shirt very exceptional.
The shirt has a shorter length in front. Hence, I tucked it in to hide my mommy marks :)
The back has a pleated and longer length which adds volume to the over-sized shirt.
I need to wear a high-heeled shoes because I never had a chance to alter the length of my pants.
This is after we pigged-out and walked down the sundrenched street.

Watch out for my blog about Rene Derhy in the coming days :)

GIVE ME BACK MY SANITY

This is the day when I'm juggling numbers while somebody 's poking me from behind asking for the numbers I am not yet finished juggling. How I wish a stress-activated paper shredder machine would save my sanity and rally around the tons papers over my desk while I am busy smashing the keyboard. As I sit in a reverie in the most chaotic corner of the room, a sudden impulse to reinstate my consciousness into the real world provoked me to seek comfort in front of the camera lens.Tara, let's go to the park :)
Batwing loose fitting tops flatters all shapes and sizes. It accentuates the svelte figure of a petite women; and hides bulges of a full-bodied women.  Wearing plain rather than printed fabrics allows you to play with lots of colors and different accessories. Moreover, you'll never worry if the prints flatter your figure or not. What I like most with this kind of top is that it's usually made of soft, flowing and lightweight fabric perfect for summer season.

High-waist pants, aside from it covers bulges around the stomach area, shows off fuller hips and smaller waist. Pinstripes pants is best when worn with bright solid colored tops and accessories.
The contrasting effect of a loose fitting top and butt-hugging bootleg pants is extreme sexiness. No need to show the bootylicious out there :)
Added a  violet waist belt to add more colors
I found the same necklace I fancied to buy in an online store which I'm glad I didn't. I also saw it at forever 21 although not the exact design but the materials used are basically the same and the cost? P505. I got mine for P120 in a bargain store.

Adrenaline rush may take the life of your most precious pair of shoes.Goodbye.

BEWARE: Don't wear heels while doing a multiple jump shots and later regret because the shots are either blurry or you look silly in it.

ONE LUCKY DAY

The clock says 5.15 PM and I have missed the Office's bus. Too bad, I'm so freakin' dog tired and I have to travel without the comfort of an airconditioned bus. Left without a choice, I rode a jeepney and hoped I could hit the LRT station within 20 minutes. I'm such in a hurry I almost tripped in the concrete barrier along the sidewalk. And when I turned my head to see if anybody has seen it, I saw: WE ARE ON SALE instead.I never thought I have rummaged the store in less than three minutes and head off to train station with a beam on my face. I just thought if I should try my luck in real life treasure hunting, I might be a billionaire by now :)

And so I left the store with two stunning dresses in my hands. One of which is a little black dress with a tag still attached to it. I recalled what my former officemate told me about how she wanted to have this Audrey Hepburn kind of look for their upcoming pre-nuptial photo shoot this year. It just gave me an idea about the "peg" she wanted: classic, elegant, simple and of course - little black dress.
Audrey Hepburn was known for her beauty, elegance, and grace. She made the "little black dress" famous in her big screen movie Breakfast at Tiffany's in 1961. And from that time, it became a staple piece in every woman's closet.
So here it is, without the french twist and make -up, a loose fitting two- tone vintage inspired cowl black dress.Although it's not the same cut as Hepburn's, it still exude simplicity and elegance which LBD is known for.

Oopppss..Nagmana sa anak. Hahaha.

This vintage inspired dress can stand out with minimal accessory.

Satin and eyelets - cowl and peter pan collar - complements each other perfectly.

Classic peep toe pumps
We headed back to office when we took advantage of the empty corridor.

Lesson learned: When the clocks hits 5PM, pack up your things immediately.
In my case, I changed my  shoes first for a thousand steps going home. I don't know how it looks like with the dress, but who cares anyways. Haha.
My ever reliable oxford shoes which I hope stays with me till December.
Phew, I almost missed the bus! I think i should get a running shoe instead to get a better seat.
Better late than never though.

COVER ME UP

This is one of the days when I am too lazy to dress up but is on always-on-the-go mood. My plan during the day is to leave the house at 6am, travel by bus and train and beat the clock at 7.30 a.m going to "somewhere dreams may come true" . I was overwhelmed by the flock of people along EDSA so my instinct tells me to just hail a taxicab which I'm glad I did without second thoughts.

I wore a printed cinch waist tunic over my favorite four year old cardigan.Since the tunic has an A-line cut, I pair it with a jeggings. A jegging is a cross breed of jeans and leggings because it looks like a tight fitting jeans made of  spandex material. Jeggings's material follows the shape of the body so wearing a tunic may be the solution to cover what should be covered.

Since I don't want to look like I'm up for a summer outing , I layered it with a plain cardigan. I also find the tunic's prints too bold so wearing plain top tones it down.

It looks like a ballerina shoes but it's the oxford shoes I first blogged here.

I just slot in this "strike a pose anywhere" when I bought materials for my work papers. However, the lady at the background grabbed my attention I almost blog her dress. Bumongga!

BY THE STREET

I'm on a official business last Wednesday for a orientation conducted by a certain government oversight agency. Afterwards, I took advantage of the early dismissal for some chit-chat slash photo ops session with my former officemate/good friend/Jamie's Godfather along the side street of Malacanang, Manila.

Since I have to ride a train going to the venue aside from the weather is so @$%^&amp! hot, I have to wear something very comfortable so I grabbed a loose shirt over a skinny jeans and oxford flats.

I started wearing loose top after giving birth to my baby Jamie a year ago. It became my confidant on times when my belly's not cooperating well because my jeans is too tight or too low or if I feel that the day would be so demanding it requires a lot of body movements.

I added a gold snakeskin necklace to jazz up the plain shirt.

I prefer pointed oxford flats because round toes like this seems to be so "school girl". But I don't mind because of the comfort that it may give plus plus plus it's on sale at 70% off!

I bought the printed socks down the LRT station for P50 - 3 pairs! It reminds me of the socks I saw at Forever 21 but a fraction of it's price; quality wise - not bad :)

I crossed the street to check if we could make a good distant shot.

These are some of the random shots that I took while sitting pretty in the side street.

 I surrender myself as the gust of air touches my face;

Without knowing that my work papers are all over the place ;)

ACCENTS

People always ask "why" when all they have to do is just say "yes or no" parang si Manong Guard in the nearby parking area. Good thing, he gave us his permission to take photos but for personal consumption only. While we are taking pictures, Manong Guard reserved a seat in one corner - too curious - a big question mark popped above his head. Pumi-peeling artista lang po :)

High waist skirt is best worn by women with long torso and legs. Since I am short and petite, I always paired this skirt with a high heeled pump to elongate my short legs. At the same time wear a wide belt that is the same as color of my top to give an illusion of longer torso since high waist skirt takes inches of the upper body.

A-line high waist skirt exudes elegance and accentuates body curves. So if you are having a belly-on-the-loose kind of problem, just wear a girdle to hide that bulges and to avoid panty lines as well.

High waist skirts is best when you are walking ---  it brings out the hourglass in you. Haha :)

This tunic sheer top is also a great option for night-outs. It can also stand out without too much accessories.

A chandelier earrings to finish the look.

We are living in a free world only if you make some "bola" to the proper authorities. Otherwise, you will be forced to look for some other venue ;)
